I will start out by saying that I am a beer snob.

Now, with that done, I used to live in Windsor, which is right next door to Detroit. Canadian and US major label beer is much the same.. There is some taste differences, but it is much the same.. Labatt Blue or Bud, they're both piss.

However, going over into Detroit for dinner was great, as I would get to have some VERY nice Michigan micro brewed stuff. I've had beer and Cider no one has heard of, and it was great.

So, not all US beer is piss. Major label stuff is, but a lot of your microbreweries kick ass.
