I have been a long time supporter of AFF, and yes, sales have been down in the New Year. But, I do an even larger buisness in the Mainstream dating industry, with a number of sites that are not associated with AFF in any way, and the sales for these sites are also down a compariable amount. So, chock it up to seasonal variations...not AFF.
Another high point for AFF....if you are at all concerned about providing the consumer with a quality product..then AFF is one of the better ones. Sure, there's still approx. 1 female to every 10 males. But there's a large enough selection of REAL members to keep most people happy.
Jack (Affiliate Mgr) at AFF knows that I am not a big fan of the Geotargeted banners with images. I've said it before...this adds a certain sleaze element to AFF. The girls shown in the banners DO NOT live in your home town. Call it what you want...plain and simple..it's FALSE advertising.
And finally, to all of you who claim that your sales have gone up 3 times since implementing the geo banners...this may or may not be true. I send a considerable amount of business to AFF. More then enough so that I can do accurate statistical analysis on sales trends. At about the same time that the geobanners were introduced, my sales too have roughly doubled. And I DON'T use the banners. So, I am much more inclined to attribute the increases to seasonal variations...not the geobanner. Did I mention that the Geobanner is false advertising. My cread is that I treat every single customer as if they were my next door neighbor or a good friend. (And they could be). I wouldn't cheat them..so I won't cheat my customers.
