I worked on F-15's in the Air Force and can attest to how loud they are. You have never heard or felt anything so raw as when you are standing 2 feet away from one of them with the engines rumbling. When the ground was wet and the engines were running the power of the intakes was so strong that it would create little tornadoes right in front of them.
Even better was sitting inside one while in afterburner

Rattles your teeth and shakes your bones!
I'll never forget those experiences

or the smell.. JP3 jet fuel stinks!
