You want high profile names to donate money and you want to publicize it heavily. It drives other high profile names to donate, as well as driving general donations. I watched this happen last night on the NBC fundraiser. Merck donates a million. Pfizer donates 2 million. Then another company donates 1.5 million. Sure, they want the good will publicity. But there's also truth that they are people and wanted to do something to help. The good news is, none of the starving children care WHY the money putting food in their mouths came to be there.

Whatever the motivation, there is absolutely no downside to her donation. None at all.
so true, i really cant see the downside to her giving so much money either. Even if she does get her name out there more its not like people dont know who she is already. Having famous people donate and have it known in turn has people who look up to them donate, its just how it works.
