No, wormwood (tuhjohn, however you spell it) is a banned food. you can buy and import absinthe into the US, but only as a collecters item.

Shame on you if you drink it. But even if you do, it's not covered on any drug law, it's a banned food, not drug.

Edit: wormwood is a poison, which is why it's a banned food here. of course, alcohol is a poision itself, so whatever.

Absinthe was invented as a tonic by the Swiss back in the day. Think it was the french who ended up liking it, and making it into a popular pub drink back in the day.
