'Suicide' monster stole my life

A BATTERED wife cleared of trying to help her evil husband commit suicide last night told how he forced her to make porn movies to pay bills.
Teen bride Gemma Johnson revealed how James Edwards invited men to come to their home and film her having lesbian sex with other girls.
Whenever the frightened youngster refused to co-operate violent Edwards?17 years her senior?attacked her, PUSHING her face into a Hoover bag until she almost suffocated, STRANGLING her and PUNCHING and KICKING her in the stomach.
And when Gemma told him she was leaving him he poured a kettleful of BOILING WATER over her body and face, with the chilling words: "If I can't have you, I'll make sure no one else wants you".
"He met me when I was 14 and seduced me at 15?and from then on he dominated my life," said Gemma, now 21.
"Whenever he beat me it was as if someone had taken all the strength from my body.
"I never wanted to do the sex films?he pushed me into it. It was so degrading."
After she left, vengeful spina bifida sufferer Edwards took an overdose?and then lied to police that Gemma had helped him take the pills.
Bristol Crown Court cleared her and found him guilty of grievous bodily harm over the terrifying kettle attack.
Yet Edwards, 38, was given only a year's suspended sentence because of his medical condition.
Now Gemma?who married Edwards in 2003?is trying to rebuild her life after plastic surgery on her burns.
"It's like they've let him off after all he did to me," she said. "He should have got prison?it isn't right."
