Been there, done that. I've been spat on, I've fired in anger, I've done humanitarian duty. US Troops are no different than any troops in the world, really -- young men and women like you and me (used to be) who are there to do their jobs, whatever those jobs may be. It always feels better building something and helping others. But they're not evil. The military doesn't inject secret syrum into soldiers which turn them into automatons bent on global domination. They're mostly just kids, just like any other except that they are called upon to risk their lives.

Hats off to the young service people from all over the world who deploy into situations they may not even fully understand to do jobs that may not at the time even make that much sense. They go anyway, and they keep going at their nation's behest be they American, Canadian, Poles, Germans, Japanese, Russian, or any other free nationality.
