IBill despite everything still have good secure software.
It is not good what happened I agree though hopefully if they do bounce back then they wont make the same mistake.
What we dont need in the market place is billing companies going under as all it will do is shift the pressure and focus of the likes of VISA for example onto them.
As someone that places processing business with banks I get rather concerned with 3rd party companies that just give accounts out pretty easily, its like motor insurrance a few bad apples can spoil it for all.
I see sites everyday that process third party and sell content which is risks being classed as not compliant though they are still given accounts - that is more risky.
Give it 12/24 months and everyone will have to have their own merchant account then need to source a gateway, its starting to happen now with Verotel taking the lead and making the changes.
Smart companies are getting as many accounts set up now and planning for the future, gone are the days you can rely one processor and I urge anyone to make 'getting back up processing' appear on their agenda for 2005.
