I love the laws in Colorado. If I want to buy a gun (including handguns) all I have to do is go to the Sporting Goods store pick out the one I want. Give them a photo Id they do a quick background check by phone (less than 5 minutes) and out I go with my new gun. You don't have to have a special license or anything.
Unfortunately it's not that way here in NY I have to be a resident for at least a year and then when I bring my gun in from Colorado I'm going to have to turn it in to the police Dept. apply for a license/permit and wait for 6 months or whatever and who knows what will happen to the gun if I don't get approved
