But burglars fall into a very grey area ... you don't have any idea if he is armed or has one of your kitchen knives ... what are you going to do , ask him ???
You DO have the right to protect your family and yourself ...
The entire thing goes right back to leaving him/her alive ...
If you use excessive force and leave them alive ... then yes you are in FOREHEAD-DEEP legal shit !! But if you kill them, a good lawyer can get you off on self defense ...
