Sure, if warnings would have went out some people would have been saved but I bet the dealth toll would still be very high.
The smart people would of head for higher ground while the idiots (me included) would be out there with a video camera in hand. Though I would of at least been smart enough to be on a rooftop. I know enough about the ocean to know when you feel a tremor or quake in a coastal area, you head for high ground. You don't stand on the beach and wonder why the water is disappearing.
