My stepmother started this pattern about 20 years ago of locating the craziest shit from flea markets, thrift stores and second hand stores and giving these finds as xmas presents.
Ive gotten empty omaha steaks shipping styrofoam packaging that she thought made a great beer cooler, The MAC truck dog that is normally a hood ornament on the trucks as a paper weight, COUNTLESS sets of dishes that were all mismatched and quite a few vases / glass decorations that were meant to be ashtrays ( I dont smoke )
She also loves to get the same crazy shit from flea markets, thrift stores, etc. So, in one resepct it makes buying next to anything for her possible, no matter how fucking wacky it is.
Most of the things are dontaed back to the local salvation army here. The last few years she was into quilts, blankets and towels. I had almost enough to fill the back of my durango. All of them were donated back. Somewhere someone has a blanket for to keep them warm thanks to Sally and her crazy presents to me..... I'd rather help my fellow man out since I have enough at this point in life
