This thread is a classic example of people not reading before they post.

My son had a febrile seizure (scroll up for a good explanation of what that is) when he was about 2. It isn't that common (about 5%)but just in case there is one person here who it will happen to I will relate my experience.

It was the scariest moment of my life as he started convulsing and then went unconscious. He was still unconscious by the time we got him to the ER.

As I ran barefoot up to the desk carrying him the nurse mentioned something about signing in. I pushed past her and kicked the doors of the ER open and another nurse directed me to the nearest available bed. He regained consciousness about 2 minutes later and was discharged in a couple hours.

I heard the nurse that found me the bed being busted for not correctly admitting him first and it took every ounce of self control not to rip the head off her supervisor.

If I had known what it was I wouldn't have panicked and he would probably have come around faster but anyway.
