It's not spam. Yahoo itself says their groups are NEWSLETTER groups. If you join a NEWSLETTER how can you be spammed by them? Also there is a NO E-MAIL option if the member doesn't want to receive e-mail from the group. Anyone that joins your group has ZERO right to accuse you of spamming them. I mean you are going to look real retarded complaining about receiving the newsletter you REQUESTED to be sent to you.
As it is I put a reminder in any e-mail that the member is receiving that e-mail because they are a member of that group and they have their e-mail settings to accept e-mail from that group and if they do not wish to receive e-mail from the group then they should cahnge their e-mail or leave the group.
Listen if you have a group, a common sense way to get members is to join other groups and post a message about your group. Most group owners do not care if other group owners post "Please join" messages or put a link to your group in their link section as long as you return in kind.
