I had one guitar that got stolen from me, the one i had since i was a kid. Long story short i got a new one in a hurry, to try and replace it, but i just hated. Since day 1 the sound was incredibly treble-ish and i had a feeling that it would be a hard one to ride. I simply hated it, and i had it for almost 3 years untill i broke it at a show and never felt so good in my life:
I sold the humbuckers (two DiMarzio Evolution, that on the Strato sounded simply like shit unless you were running on a really processed sound, forget about using a Marshall there), saved some parts of the Floyd Rose and made myself a new one. I really donīt like guitars that you just go to the shop and pick, i need to know exactly what the guitar is made of and that has everything i like to the detail (i skipped all this with the other guitar due to desperation, i just joined the best parts i could grab to get some gear ASAP)
Now i have this beautifull Samick Custom, with an amazingly wide and fast fret, much more solid (even though we know the strats are not hollow, the wood is not as solid as other guitars) with two DiMarzio PAF Classic humbuckers and a Floy Rose. I always make a switch (this time the last pot i just push it up to turn the option on) to force the humbucker to act as a single coil microphone. I am now also making a new one with just one humbucker on bridge position, a Z series from Ibaņez that we are basically redoing it. Is not like i am a guitar expert or true tech, i just know how i want to sound =)
