The CORRECT pronunciation remains 'neesh'. Taking something and bastardizing it doesn't suddenly make it correct. But then WTF - it was done with much of the rest of the English language so why stop at yet another word?
And yep - stolen off the French which only goes to prove how it should be pronounced.
