You should really read up on what type of training Mas Oyama formed with kyokushin karate.
Kyokushin is one of the few striking arts that are worthy. They are full contact no pad fighting. I would rate Kyokushin up there with Muay Thai, with MT being number one.
While there is alot of about the one hit kills history, (Remember the video game Karate Fighter? The bull in the bonus section was based on him) he was considered hard core for his time. He was one of the original Mixed Martial Artist, as he carried Dans in Judo, and okinawan karate.
Mas Oyama was the real deal, let's not forget that he was Korean born, yet is considered to be one of Japans treasures.
