It looks like a Sig9mm but even if it had been a 45 there is alwaays a chance that there would not be an exit wound. they have been known to travel the roof of the skull, and not exit. I have seen exit wounds from a 22 cal, and not from a 308. just one of those things.
I dont think that this is the case where the guy shot the cop. If he is the one, then the officer that took his handcuffs off needs to be beaten and then fired. As for the guy that did not search him, he was probably suspended.
