I don't believe in "religion" per se. To do so will often come with it - the little caveate of also believing in heaven and hell which also comes with the beliefs of the requirements of arriving in either of those 2 places.
I don't belive if there was a "loving God", he would test us in the commonly believed manner. I also do not believe that if he did, we (as mere mortals) could give an honest answer to those tests.
Think about it for a second - worship me or burn in everlasting fire and brimstone.
What the heck kinda choice is THAT?
I remember getting my ass whipped as a child and my father asking if I was sorry I did the transgression?
Of course I said yes to him - but in my heart I was only sorry I got caught!
I don't believe a "loving God" would allow the rape, murder or torture of innocent children - and if he does - I don't want ANY part of a guy like that.
If a "God" wanted to be worshipped so he creates mankind and that same "God" is all knowing - you'd think he'd have seen what was coming and that he'd be destroying the everything on it with 40 days and nights of rain. What do you call that? A heavenly "do-over". And I watch alot of the discovery channel - when's the last time you've seen a olive tree on the top of the highest peak?
If "heaven" is so great, why did his angels rebel? Weren't they happy in paradise?
The bible is just a story - a story written by man in many different languages and interpretations. Do you really think a story told over 2000 years ago in a language you didn't speak will be precisely recorded in its' true meaning?
Oh... I could go on but you probably were thinking doesn't this guy ever shut up 2 paragraphs ago
