I had the same problem with a Toshiba laptop I bought from compusa. Dead pixels right out of the box. They didn't want to replace it but I told them that they could either refund my money and I'd take my business elsewhere or provide a replacement. 10 minutes later I was walking out of the store with a new laptop.
