..freehost wishlist?
I've noticed that there's not really a happy medium w/ freehosts- yes, paid hosting is the way to go, but may not be ecconomical to begin with. With a few collegaues the idea of a new freehost designed basically by you guys has been thrown around - so what would you want to see in a freehost? Please post below - i've included a few things we've been thinking of:
- true bannerless, with a share of sales money [$5-9], or banners, and full sales to you.
- free content each DAY, allowing for at least 2 TGP galleries
- mysql, php, etc etc - unix based servers, on the US backbone
- fast connection, round-robin DNS, true ftp - no publishing delays etc
- secure
- the ability to convert to paid hosting, w/ full server features
- global admin, meaning there'll always be someone up to support you
- domain hosting, and the ability to create your own subdomains, MX records etc - control the lot..
note, there's no *technical* pontification here - this is purely feature-centered
how does this sound, and would you be prepared to sign up for something such as this?
