Just wanted to add this to the mix.
I know there were all kinds of races and ethnicities discriminiated against...even religious affiliations.
My father was taunted and forced to sit in the back of the bus in his hometown when his parents took him out of Catholic School and put him in public school.
It was the baptis bus driver who forced him to sit in the back of the bus.
Sure he had a hard time of it...and they treated him badly...bus driver included only because he was Catholic...but the fact that he was white...he could always blend in outisde of those who knew him...and rise above that which tried to keep him down.
Kinda hard to do if your skin is another color.
Now don't get me wrong...I'm not into affirmative action...I believe it equal reverse discrimination.
I believe people should be hired based only on experience, education and merits.
I also feel that one of the new emerging minorities are single white guys.
But I can also concede tho' that there has been a definite imbalance in power for so many years before...nothing can ever really make up for it...but for people to choose for themselves to rise above it...because in my opinion the best success is revenge.
