If you are lactose intolerant - any many people are - whey protein will cause gas or worse.

I've seen it recommended that you use protein shakes before and after working out when your body needs protein quick. And eat high protein foods the rest of the time. I like to sit down with a bowl of tuna and chow down. Tastes pretty good and I get about 45 grams of protein in one sitting.

Turkey, chicken, lean beef - all great for you.

The harder you work out the more food you're body will naturally demand.
Isolate has very minimal lactose compared to Concentrate. So if you are lactose intolerant then make sure you get Protein Isolate.
