They have gone for a different style and feel in oceans 12 as opposed to oceans 11 (to which comparisons are obviously drawn).

While it still comes accross as very stylish, the sequal feels more forced, the heists themselves less believable, and some of the situations, while they may bring a smile to your face, also bring you right out of the movie.

The best part of the movie is without a doubt the case, as everything shines when 2 or more characters are just sitting around talking (or not talking), and you really enjoy listening to their banter and laid back conversations. Especially Pitt and Clooney.

The new cast fit in well too, with Zeta-Jones standing out particularly.

While this is not a bad movie, its not as original as the original, nor as enjoyable. The charm of the first movie was the build up to the heist, and the fact that they pulled it off flawlessly while keeping the audience in the dark. Unfortunately, Oceans 12 manages to keep the audience in the dark and then flick the light switch on and off all the way up to the closing credits.

4/10
