But...IMHO it's far too late for the US to just 'ban guns'. The huge availability really does mean the crims will still have them and the public not which makes it a tad one sided. Of course that's not a problem in countries where the crims so rarely have them in the first place

You are totally right. Thats why i said guns are a fundamental problem in the US. Banning them now is quite useless. They never shouldve been allowed in the first place.
