Look at this nice ( haha ) Compaq notebook ( Armada 1700 ). My friend bought it that she could broadcast live shows. There're one USB port and one RJ45 for LAN cable - good! But if you plug in LAN cable - you can NOT plug in anything on USB port. Great engineering!!! She can't use USB web cam
Another creat piece of engineering was some two years old Toshiba notebook. There was two PCMCIA slots, but only the upper one was actual PCMCIA.... another was just an empty slot without any ejection button. It was quite easy to accidentally put modem / net card on the wrong slot... If you wanted it out - you needed to open the whole fucked notebook - which was not intended to be opened ( with reference to tens of small screws and plastic clips )
More nice engineering! However I have been quite happy with IBM think pads.
