In porn you have Bangbus. Those guys constantly made the trailers and galleries look fresh and captivating even after we thought it had to be over. It's still not over, the affilliates may have a hard time but overall I bet the joins on it are as high as plenty of other program's flagship sites.
Webmasters don't spend enough time coming up with fresh ideas when it comes to marketing their sites. If you really think about it, all the scenes are basically the same. It's all in the spin.

I agree. The other aspect I would add is - nail your niche. NAIL it. The lv panty site is a perfect example of hitting that niche right on the head. Good marketing + content that is exactly what that niche is looking for = $$$
