Purge - A purge is an amount of money paid to the county in lieu of serving a sentence. This is often seen in cases of Domestic Relations, (DRD) or child support. Cash is the only authorized method of payment. No personal or business checks may be accepted. The amount of a purge is set by a judge and must be paid in full. The depositor will go to the Jail Information area located on the south side of the Polk County Sheriff's Office Operations Center. The cash money will be collected from the depositor and counted in their presence. Money collected should be the exact amount required, as change cannot be made. Upon verification and completion of the purge paperwork, the depositor will be receive a receipt. The release process will then begin, which includes location and transportation of the inmate to Central Booking, if they have been transferred to the Central or South County Jail.
That's Polk County, but should be the same in Orlando. Her story doesn't seem like it would warrant a purge. Her story also sounds a little fishy, but it's not my place to judge. So go bond her out.
