CNN: "The car bomb exploded about 100 meters (330 feet) from an entrance to the U.S. Embassy." It doesn't appear to have killed any embassy personnel. Also, "an entrance to the U.S. Embassy" could mean little more than an entrance in a large, thick wall, not a doorway to the building proper. The fact that CNN doesn't feature it seems to indicate that in their judgment the proximity to the embassy might be accidental or that the explosion is meant more as a scare tactic to the U.S. than as a serious attempt to kill Americans.
