when your dealing with newbies, most that ive run across have dreams of fast easy money firmly insconced in their brain. common-business sense is nowhere to be found. so they go to the first flashy looking sponser they find. down load all the free content they can, then splash it on the sponsers free host in hopes of buying that porsche boxter the following week.
then a month later they discover just how the business works, or how they think it works, then they either go away or tryn learn about the business.
if you have a decent market presense to attract newbies, your galleries'll be used w/ enthusiasm. but in my observations of this biz, giving them a good gallery to use is not going to do them or you much good. they'll either auto submit 15 a day everywhere and get banned or ignoreed, or they'll wind up on the-smallest-tgp-on-earth.com and send you 5 hits a month.
i've only been in this industry since last fall, i havnt really submited or done a whole lot yet, just mostly been observing.
the newbies ive talked to on other boards mostly say or complain about the same thing in regards to tgp. they cant under stand why no body will list their galls. upon looking at them you realize they are either poorly designed or over used pics, or just abouit any other mistake they can make. what they lack is education. just common sense do's and dont's. if you give them a nice gall to use, most will find a way to fuck it up.
if you offer free content, meter it. only enough for a certain # of galleries. then change the content regularly. and make sure they know you change it often, they'll be back for more because its free. then have a short, simple, to the point do's and dont's of how to use the content to make money. keep it simple because they think they already know it all. give them a few templates to learn from, but some how encourage creativity. use big blinking letters;) if at all possible start a tgp or work out a deal with one to list your sponsered sites. thats a bit much, but just an idea.
the key is to show them how to drive the car youve just given them. they are representing you in cyberspace, your logo is plastered to their rear bumper. their purpose in life is to make you money. you cant do it for them, but showing them just enough of the rules, making a slightly smarter work force may help Your conversion ratio.
as far as expierenced webmasters, from what ive seen they prob wouldnt use premades, because of the eventual saturation. and why make it easy?;)
