The French did resist and fought alongside the British, however were out numbered and out gunned by a far superior force. A lot of French soldiers were evacuated at Dunkirque and Joined the Free French, led by De Gaule. Those Free French also were involved in the D Day landings and their airmen flew in the Battle of Britain, far more than US flyers.

We flew via Paris a few years ago, it has one of the worse records for theft and lost luggage in Europe. In fact when we got to the Lost Propert office in LAX, they told us, "You flew via Paris"

thanks charly its good to see someone educated in here , and yeah i agree, french airports are horrible but i heard they caught the gang that was robbing luggages a few month ago.
