Sorry but your knowledge of European history is flawed.

By the time the US entered the Second World War, after Pearl Harbour and Churchill committing to help fight the Japanese, the Nazis had given up any idea of invading anywhere except Russia.

The French did resist and fought alongside the British, however were out numbered and out gunned by a far superior force. A lot of French soldiers were evacuated at Dunkirque and Joined the Free French, led by De Gaule. Those Free French also were involved in the D Day landings and their airmen flew in the Battle of Britain, far more than US flyers.

Back to the topic of the thread.

We flew via Paris a few years ago, it has one of the worse records for theft and lost luggage in Europe. In fact when we got to the Lost Propert office in LAX, they told us, "You flew via Paris"
