i was not educated ( or uneducated for that matter) in the US just went to school one year there.
and the fact is that if french troops didn't delay the germans in '40 the whole brittish army would have been anihilated and england would have been invader in the following months, then france surrendered because the remaining french troops had no choice but go to england with the brit troops, without troops left there was no choice but abdicate. on the other hand what i find funny is that you never call the dutch and the belgians, nor the poles for that matter " cowards " poles didn't do better than the frenchs and the dutch and belgians really sold their asses without fighting .
