Oh, the irony...
Thought I would post an update. Here's an excerpt of the "stock" response provided by Casalemedia, a major advertiser on 12Clicks Standard Internet, when questioned about adware:
"Let me assure you that Casale Media does not engage in putting AD-Ware on anyone's machines however, we do buy advertising space for clients from companies which use this ad delivery format".
And here's the real irony, in their explanation of where the adware type pop-ups could be originating:
"If you are getting multiple advertisements, you probably have several pieces of adware on your computer. This could occur by downloading applications such as Kazaa, Morpheus, Hotbar, Smiley Central, iMesh, and many others".
Now, why is this significant you ask? Another major product delivered by Standard Internet is Free Screensavers, offered by Funwebproducts. Take a close look at their Privacy Policy, and not only will you find the Smiley Central product cited by Casalemedia as a MAJOR source of adware, you will find an extensive list of other goodies..all which have been connected to adware by McAfee, Norton, and dozens of other reputable Security companies.
Here's a small list of products included with the Freescreensaver download. I left out a whole bunch, in order to make this post readable.
