Can you fill me in on how a publisher gets paid there?

I tried flying a Light Speed banner when it was very new. I could see the impressions and all that jazz... The only thing I could not figure out was how exactly I was going to get paid for flying the banner. How does money go from a sponsor to the website doing the ads? The documentation there is kinda sparse in this respect.
