Lots of people protest for lots of things. You just happened to find a group that has no real clue.
The 'missile defense system' is a red herring anyways. The stuff they're working on doesn't (and likely never will, unless the "enemy", whoever that is, insists on using purely long range ballistics instead of MIRV or anything that'd allow the vehicle to alter course mid-flight). Reasonable people don't see the system as the problem nearly so much as the encroachment of US military presence on Canadian soil.
But you know kids these days. Any ol' reason to start an argument.
