first of all you take a $38 loss per member, as soon as someone signs up. then subtract staff costs, leasing costs, bandwidth costs, and other costs associated with running a persignup program (i.e, check processing) and a $38 loss becomes a $43 loss per member. either you recur like a motherfucker at $30+ a pop, for at least 2 months, you shave signups, deny transactions from certain countries and use a dialer, use email boxes, upsell, or have popup hell on enter and/or exit. i guess that topbucks make a fucking fortune off of their enter popups, and webmasters don't get credit for any of that.
anyway 100% credit for everything is not feasible - epsecially not when you're paying $50 per trial and need an exit to join4free.

If they can't afford 50$ per trial, which is the case, they shouldn't advertise at 50$ per trial.
