It is a little more than just http failure then server reboot. The watchdog serves as a backup, that is x,y,z fails, then reboot after "x" time. You can also set it to just restart a certain app if that is all that fails. Ex, restart Apache if http fails for 5 minutes. Each line we add to the code makes it smarter.

We also have people on staff and they do get notified when things fail, but this is just an auto feature that some customers find useful.

And truly, most things you can diagnose and then fix by pulling plugs or touching keyboards can be automated. It saves time, money, and frustration.
