Generally your domain will have a timeout of 2 days set which means caching dns servers around the world will 'remember' where your domain was pointed for upto 2 days. Beofre you move domains like that you should lower the TTL (time to live) of your domain to about 2 hours so when you do change the DNS info it will be a lot quicker to update around the world.
