Do you guys think this whole Iraq business was just a way to move the battlefront? Seriously, there hasn't been an attack in the States since it started. If it was just a way to create a battlefield elsewhere for all anti-American fighters it was probably a good idea and something Bush couldn't publicly state without getting trashed.

Interesting idea. I think it was a welcome byproduct of a long term strategy. The sanctions against Iraq (essentially an economic blockade, like the naval blockades of the past) pointed to an eventual invasion of Iraq. They would've invaded Iraq regardless of 9/11 or George Bush.
