Every decent store in the US has stuff like Oragel, which has benzocaine in it. A drop or squeze of this stuff into the cavity of an aching tooth relives pain in seconds. A bit more conveinient than clove oil. Go to your local drugstore and ask them for over-the-counter benzocaine products. It shoud be on the shelf near the toothbrushes.

Works quite well.
