I think you are wrong. I just moved from Los Angeles to the Midwest. Granted it is not the South, but they are about equal in my book. But what I have noticed here is everyone is happy. The average income here is $38,000 per year. Yet a family of 4 lives very comforatably on that income. I sold my house in LA for $569k, and got a house twice as big with twice as much land here for under $250k. And I dont live out in the sticks somewhere. I am in a suburb of a major city. The Midwest and the South vote republican because there is really nothing wrong here. Life is good.
