I think the point is that these things (bottles, chairs) only occurred after the incident escalated - and it was determined the escalation was because Artest jumped into the stands.
You just can't jump into the stands because Beer was thrown on you.

hahahah ya i gotcha but...
Artest didn't injure the man he went after, he grabbed him by the face and said "you throw something man? you throw something??!" and the guy said no. The only reason it ESCALADED BEYOND that was because the OTHER fans didn't just stand around and try to help the situation, they threw beer on him, and started socking him in the face. Fans created the situation, then PUSHED the situation, period.
