Met a good friend form San Francisco some years ago, We had a great time together, visited each other and had a lot of fun.
Last year I met this dude on an adult webmaster board, we talked, chat and phoen, sent pix, etc, he moved to south america and we are married and too much in love!
I would say that if you are not an idiot and actually do webcams, where you can really see and listen to the person you will meet, you 'shouldn't get freaky surprises.
Also, this way you can get to know a person faster and deeper without being all worried about where you gonna go, whatcha gonna do, if the hair looks right, blah, blah, saves time really.
