actually I think its a matter that right now we are way too liberal for their tastes - we allow gay marriage, health care and are loved by the world. History has always shown that when we do something that is against what americans want, they get royally pissed like somehow they own us.
sad thing is that many consider us another state of america when in fact, we have so much more than they do and before anyone jumps all over this.. simply look at a few examples
- lumber
- water (lakes and BC)
- uranium
- diamonds
- drugs
to name just a few things that the government of USA is wanting from us and we arent handing it over.
Most americans have no clue much less care about what happens in canada or any other country - even the ones they are occupying - some actually believe the world owes them a favor.
Canadians on the whole love their american brothers, but on the whole see them as spoiled bully's. I even remember how pissed off some were when someone took a picture of australia and put it over america to show its as large as they were, and the TV station got so many angry calls?? God, wait until people put Canada over the USA and cover it from the sun

I think I speak for some of us when I say, Canada is a beautiful place, but other than that, who cares?
