Being 40, I'll have to agree - and suggest you find a way to do both.
As a side note, while I did take advantage of the opportunities presented to me at 20, I've been considering going back to school again to study economic geology, something useful as my new mining "hobby" gets more serious - the point being that "It's never too late to learn..."
