I 100% agree the people are are fighting are the insurgnts that are trying to come into the country and fight the US forces. The US forces are there to get rid of them
unfortunatly the iraqi people that live in the slums are recruited by these insurgents and promised big things and told things that that are totally untrue all to get them to fight along side them
the Iraqi people want thier country back and thats what the soldiers are there to do ( yeah there might be this oil shit thing in there too I wont deny that ) if you get rid of the insurgents from syria iran and saudi I can almost gaurantee that fighting would cease almost completely its never going to go away all together hell we have gang wars all the time in the USA and well that kind of thing is so out of hand thier in Iraq because there is soo much poverty and well poverty breeds gangs and gang warfar and right now those gangs built by insurgents are fighting the US soldiers
