Sad and crazy accident

This weekend, there was a horrible car accident. My nephew was really close to the people involved. His girlfriend's brother was one of the ones in the car. Anyways, here's the story -

---------------------------------------------------------------------
CHASSELL - The small school district of Chassell is struggling today to come to terms with the loss of two of its students to a fatal automobile accident Friday night.

According to the Houghton County Sheriff Department, a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Kimberly Barney of Chassell was traveling southbound on the Tapiola Road, about one mile south of the Suo Loop in Portage Township at approximately 10:45 p.m., when she lost control.
The vehicle went into the ditch and rolled over several times, snapping a utility pole in half before coming to rest.

Robert Markham, 14, of Atlantic Mine was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Portage Health System, where he was pronounced dead. Andrew Rogers, 15, of Chassell, was transported to Marquette General Hospital where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Passengers Brandon Badke, 17, and Joseph Hilts, 16, both of Chassell were transported to Portage Hospital, where Badke and Barney were treated and released. Hilts was transported to Marquette General Hospital and remains in critical condition.

Mercy Ambulance and Otter Lake First Responders assisted at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation. Excessive speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, while alcohol has been ruled out.
---------------------------------------------------------------

From what I heard, the girl driving was going 120MPH down the road and was trying to be cool by swerving back and forth on the road until she went hit some gravel near the side of the road, and went off the road, the rest is history. They say that the boy that was ejected traveled over 100 feet.

As far as my nephew's girlfriend's brother, he's still in critical condition, EVERY bone in his face was broken, and he's suffered brain damage, they don't know how much of an effect it's gonna have, he's still in critical condition.

One othe kids that died had his lungs crushed and ended up drowing in his own blood internally.

Of course, it's always the driver that survives. I'm sure that she's gonna get charged for manslaughter, it's just tragic, especially when the kids were soooo young and had a lot of life ahead of them.
