Ok, let's say there's a popular sponsor program which you still hasn't checked yet.

So, if you decie to give them a try, do you:

1. go to www.sponsorname.com, sign up and start sending traffic
2. ask your friends on ICQ for a ref code, and then sign up and start sending traffic?

I am afraid most webmasters chose 1., but i really don't know why.

IMO it should be natural then you sign up to new programs under ref.codes from your buddies.

What's your opinion on this?
