I agree suits have a social context. And there are places and people that you shouldn't wear them around. People will draw conclusions based on what you are wearing. Some people might think your gay. And I believe that you honestly feel that a suit is only for people that care what others think ... but that kind of sounds like a person's view that has never worn a nice suit for a day. I see nice clothes, nice cars, nice food, and skanky women - not as a reflection that somebody cares what others think - but as a indication that they want to be happy.

A nice suit makes you feel more comfortable (because it fits perfectly), sexy (because the women take a second look), power ful (stand there and put one hand in your pocket! Damn! better watch out). The second two sound like it has to do with public perception again ... but they really don't... you can be on the phone and still own the room... because you feel more comfortable/confident.

That's what the suit is about - helping you feel more comfortable and confident
